Walk for Adoption 2010

Walk for Adoption 2010 Information

The walk will no longer be held at Montrose Beach. As the planning for the walk moved forward, we found it necessary to change locations. The good news is the new location is farther north, so all you Wisconsin families will be able to make it!

The new location is the Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville, IL. The preserve has restrooms and a pavilion for our post-walk picnic.

Below is a map of the preserve (click on it to make it larger). We will be meeting at Shelter D. It is very easy to find. When you enter the park, go past the first small parking area, turn right and follow the loop around until you see the sign for Shelter D.
The walking path we'll be taking is the 1 mile loop around the large pond. The path is not paved, but it is made of hard packed crushed rock and would be fine for strollers, wagons, etc.
The preserve is dog friendly, but they must be leashed.

After the walk, plan on sticking around. There is a covered pavilion where we can have lunch and get to know some other families who have been touched by adoption. There is a BBQ grill at the park, if you plan on grilling, you'll need to bring your own charcoal briquettes.
Next to the pavilion is a large grassy area where children could play.
